Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE…
1. In God the Father, creator of Heaven and Earth, and that Jesus Christ, His only son was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a Virgin, was crucified on our behalf as a punishment for the sins of mankind, was resurrected on the third day, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father. Jesus will come again soon in glory to judge the living and the dead, to rule and reign for evermore.
2. The only way to eternal salvation is through a personal belief that the blood of Jesus Christ paid the penalty for sin and an acceptance of him into your life as Lord and Savior. We believe that salvation is by grace alone, is immediate and eternal upon the acceptance of Jesus as a sacrifice for our sins. Salvation is not obtained through any works, sacraments, traditions or merits of our own. We believe making Jesus Lord of our lives means striving towards holiness, turning from our sinful ways and walking in obedience to God's word.
3. We believe in one Triune God-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-eternal in being, identical in nature, equal in power and glory, and having precisely the same attributes and perfections (Deut. 6:4; 2 Cor. 13:14).
4. By this we understand that the Holy Spirit not only inspired the thoughts of the writers, but also formulated the very word structure into which the thoughts were cast with the result that the original documents were inerrant as to fact and infallible as to truth (1 Cor. 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21). We believe and trust that the scripture (as written) is appropriate for any purpose and believe that God can speak to us individually, through Scripture. We will not change the meaning of a passage or declare that it now has a new meaning. We study the Bible to learn God’s will and seek to grow in the knowledge of Him and His Son.
5. We strive to deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ through the childbirth period and to be a witness and testimony to all who God places in our path.
6. That Childbirth brings glory to God the Father, regardless of its outcome. We believe that child-birth is a beautiful event that expands far beyond the physical experience, reaching into the very depths of our souls.
7. We believe that Satan uses fear and tension to make birth more difficult. We also believe that what Satan intends for evil, God can use for good in our lives (Genesis 50:20), so even a very difficult birth can glorify the Lord!
8. We believe that God desires to use childbirth so that His children will look first to Him for comfort, support, knowledge, and strength, and we also believe that God can give wisdom to all care providers. We pray that those attending the birth will seek Godly wisdom and not worldly wisdom so that the best outcome can be achieved. We encourage everyone involved to make educated decisions based on accurate information rather than making rash decisions based on fear.
9. Your birth is a spiritual event in your life, and the life of your entire family. We value the presence of the father as an important source of comfort and guidance for the mother, and enjoy seeing the Lord bind their relationship as they become parents.
